Bow Tie Onesies

I've been working on some custom kids clothes that use the bow ties I make in my shop, because I'm determined to fill the world with even more bow tie cuteness.  Here are a few pieces I've made recently.

These were made for a set of twins that were born very recently. Their mama loves purple so I was sure to incorporate purple into the designs.  (She also loves stars, so the dark fabric has both!) The center bands for each bow tie has the fabric from the other, so the brothers will still be matching just a bit in their outfits.

                   

The next outfit is a shirt for a growing boy about to turn 1 in July. He's outgrowing (everything) onesies pretty quickly, so this design called for a t-shirt. He's going to look so absolutely cute in it!!

Spring 2014 LPH Pet Bow Ties & Bows

Some fun new things have been added to the shop recently. Last spring, if you can remember back that far, LPH debuted our Lavender and Seersucker Bow Ties, which were a hit for both the spring and summer.  This year, in a desperate attempt to will the winter to end, I chose some bright and fun fabrics that are perfect for the ever stylin' pet. This week, the official Spring 2014 Pet Bow Tie & Bow collection was added to the Lavender Paper Hearts Etsy Shop. I fell in love with the flower print fabric when I used it to make some baby gifts for the holidays, and I wanted to incorporate it into bow ties for the new season.  Plus, I'm jonesing hard for all things spring and springtime feeling and that cute fabric makes me feel like spring will be here any minute!!

So a few weeks ago I walked the aisles of my local fabric store searching for the perfect materials to compliment the flower fabric. Stripes are one of those things that just never really go out of style.  That said, I picked a bright Lemonade Stripe fabric to help ring in the Spring (hello, Spring? Are you there???).  In a similar vain I fell in love with the Bright Sky Blue Polka Dots because they just felt right. I hope that polka dots stay in fashion for years to come - I love them!!

My bow ties & bows are all completely made by hand. I use cotton fabric to ensure softness for your pet with soft interlining to help the bow tie keep its shape. The bow ties are soft and flexible enough that they will not be uncomfortable for your pet in their day-to-day activities. They easily secured to your pet's collar with a hidden elastic band on the back of the tie which makes them easy to put on and take off. Should your pet have a little too much fun, the bow ties can be gently hand-washed and laid out to air dry.

For the Pets:  I've brought back the Green Candy Cane and Red Snowman Pet Bow Ties this year. The snow men are technically different, but I might be the only one to notice. I totally think they're cuter this time around.  By special request, I also added a Holiday Striped Bow Tie to the collection. I think they're a fun, fancier choice for the season.

New: Also new to the pet selection this year are my Poinsettia Collar Flowers. Last year some people wanted something a little different for their lady dogs, so I came up with this fun throw back flower to add a little holiday spirit to any pet. Just like the Pet Bow Ties, these can be added or removed from your pet's collar by an elastic band on the back of the flower.

I love these bows! I have them to wear in pretty much any color felt possible. I've made them holiday themed here so you can look snazzy for any up coming holiday parties, or if you just want to get a little fancy while shopping.

Halloween Bow Ties!

Don't forget to place your order for Halloween Pet Bow Ties!! I've recently added these Candy Corn and Halloweenie themed fabrics to the shop so your pets can get fancy for the upcoming spooky holiday!

After getting a few custom orders for dogs lighter than 15 lbs, I also recently added x-small bow ties to the shop. I always try to make sure that the bow ties are a comfortable fit for my clients if they're too big, your pet is less likely to wear them for very long.

Be sure to check back soon for more holiday themed items. I've been working on on a lot of new items for the shop, and also for a craft fair I'm attending in November. The in-house model tried to help me out last week, but ended up, shockingly, not being very helpful.  He stole one of the new felt holiday bow ties I was making and a chase ensued. Mind you I did stop to take a photo, so I wasn't that worried. I'd like to believe that this means it's earned his seal/drool (?) of approval.

Bow Ties in Action

Here at Lavender Paper Hearts you KNOW I love a good bow tie in action photo. I have a few bow ties in action photos to share with you. This first sweet photo showed up in my inbox this week and I just HAD to share it. Bean is such a sweet little mini-kitty. (She's not really a mini-kitty, but she's such a little dainty lady!) She loves to sit right in the middle of the kitchen table. I always know where to look for her when we visit with her owners (my cousin and her husband!)

This one is a little late. I remembered to share it on Facebook, but not here. This is actually Bean's sister, Hazel May the pit bull. Hazel is the SWEETEST little thing ever. She is also madly in love with my husband (she has a thing for dudes in general) and runs right over to say hi to him whenever we visit. She also loves belly rubs and sitting on your feet. She's quite the love.

New Bow Tie Patterns!

I've recently added a few more bow ties to my Etsy shop Lavender Paper Hearts and I thought I'd take a minute to share them here today!

The first pattern is a green and blue plaid fabric. If you follow me on Instagram you noticed that I took an order of in-progress bow ties with me on a road trip to a wedding in Pennsylvania. It was a long drive and perfect for finishing these beauties up!

Here are the finished bow ties: a large, two mediums, and a small. They're perfect for pups of all sizes.

Green and Blue Plaid Pet Bow Tie

This fabric I found when I was walking past the remnant bin at Jo-Ann's. It totally caught my eye and I HAD to have it. It's also an optical illusion of sorts. What do you notice first? Do you see the blue soft diamond shape? (Technically called hypocycloids. My husband would want me to point out.) Do you notice the white X shape? That's what I tend to focus on first when I look at this fabric. :)

I also was working on a navy satin bow tie this week and picked up some black satin too!! So both fancy fabric bow ties are now available in the shop for your fancy pet needs.

New Bow Ties & Bow Ties in Action

Hello there!

Summertime is officially here and this summer's theme seems to be weddings and babies!!  I've had quite a few custom order requests in the shop lately which is always fun and a nice creative challenge.  I'm currently halfway through finishing up a custom quilt which I'll share later in the month as well as 3, yes 3 (maybe 4) different custom mobiles.  Be sure to check back here on Wednesday. I'm going to have a post featured over at the blog Kiss My Tulle and I couldn't be more excited about it!!

By special request, I whipped up some Patriotic Pet Bow Ties for the shop.  You dog or cat will be ready to celebrate the 4th of July in style!! (Also, check out the beautiful color of my hydrangea!)

OMG - Hampton (a former S.N.O.R.T. - Short Noses Only Rescue Team-er) is *quite* the charmer. I recently got an update about Mr. Formal-Classic from his former foster mom. Hampton is a therapy dog and he works in hospitals and nursing homes helping people and he wears his Navy Satin Fancy Pet Bow Tie every time he's "on duty" cheering people up!! How great is he?!! 

This is Mojo!! His mom bought him a collar back in May so he could look fancy at her wedding.  I've got this photo for now of Mojo trying it on, but will have a professional photo or two later in the summer.  I'm so excited! 

Lastly, I whipped up some business cards to include with my bow ties and they, obviously, feature the exceptionally adorable in-house model.  Vertical design, purple backs, rounded corners, and a cute pup in a bow tie.  What's not to love?!!
